Kesho Mpya is Swahili for a new tomorrow.
We are a Tanzanian organization working to improve adolescent mental health through counseling, education, prevention, advocacy, and partnership with families and communities. Our headquarters are in Iringa, and our work is growing outward from there.
Much of it is carried in silence.
Many young people move through anxiety, low mood, bullying, family conflict, substance use and academic pressure without anyone to tell. Not because they do not want help — because help has never been close by.
None of this is any young person’s fault. And it is changeable: one trained adult, one safe place to speak, and a parent who knows what to do next changes the whole outcome.
